Lipstick & Slop, Pt. Deux (#WifeWorthy Diaries)

Soooo, last week we were talking more about dealing with our crazy.
If you didn’t read it, feel free to click here to catch that one first, so that you will be better able to keep up today. (Don’t worry; we’ll wait)
…....

All caught up? Okedoke.
So I made a statement at the beginning of the last post that referenced us not wanting to get all dolled up only to go and lay down with pigs and roll about in slop. I want to explore that a little more.

A single, attractive woman such as yourself may be in a position of being a perpetual maid of honor. You know, like all of those romantic comedies that have been coming out lately about the beautiful but lonely single and successful woman that has had the task of becoming the maid of honor at all of her childhood friend’s weddings and even that of her younger sister? I’m not gonna name any of the actresses or the movies but they’re out there and you may have seen quite a few of them.
Has this become you? You been the happy BFF or cousin at their wedding and you’ve continued to get all gussied up for someone else’s affair when you see new wrinkled popping up on your forehead and you caught glimpse of a gray hair last week. So after finding storage for the fourth or fifth bridesmaid’s dress and your thirtieth birthday came and went you started to get in your feelings and thinking that it might be time to re-evaluate your priorities and standards because you aren’t getting any younger and your eggs are going bad and you want babies/more babies and you’re tired of everybody asking you why you’re single…

Insert deep breath here.

Let me get you right real quick…

Romans 15:13
“I pray that God,
the source of hope,
will fill you completely with joy and peace
because you trust in Him.
Then you will overflow with confident hope
through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

You’re not a pig and you don’t need to associate with pigs, or roll around in slop.

Don’t let the opinions of others nor the lack of a wedding dress (or the groom) cause you to think you need to change your standard for the life that you want to live. You deserve the best! Do you know who your Father is? King of Kings and Lord of Lords! That makes you just as royal and He. And king’s always want the best possible for their daughters, especially when it comes to their husbands. Why would He want to see you with someone less than you?
You have no need to surround yourself with pigs or pagans. There is a man that is everything that you could possibly ask for and even more. The scripture above says that, because you trust God, your confidence will overflow. You have no reason to hold your head down or feel bad because the world says you’re behind schedule. God’s time is not our time and He knows better than we do. When you trust Him completely, you have no reason to feat or be afraid of anything. Loneliness and dried up ovaries included. And through that trust comes the confidence to back it up. Think about it like this:
God is perfected you, as well as the man of your dreams. You don’t want him the way he is; he might be incomplete right now. Half a man is no good to a whole, complete lacking nothing woman such as yourself. Be patient.

 So let God finish him…
